Okta

Trust From The Inside Out

For years, Okta has defined itself by the people it protects—millions of identities across every technology. But behind every verified login and secure connection is a team with a story of its own.

Okta’s Employee Experiences team and The Studio, its in-house creative group, recently partnered with IDW to shift the lens inward: toward the people, places, and principles that make Okta, Okta. Shot across three continents and captured by local embedded artists, this project represents the culture of a company built not just on innovation, but on identity.

The Big Picture

With global teams including San Francisco, Bengaluru, and Dublin, Okta knew the story of its culture couldn’t be told from a single desk or point of view. Together, we developed a creative strategy to document the daily rhythm of each office—embedding DPs and photographers within teams to capture the unique texture of work, connection, and community in every region.

These weren’t scripted moments. They were lived ones—offering a human portrait of what it means to be part of Okta. The result is a body of work that will be used across internal culture initiatives that feels honest and globally connected.

From headquarters in San Francisco to growing hubs in Bengaluru and Dublin, we partnered with regional crews and artists to embed directly within Okta teams—capturing each location’s authentic rhythm.

Local Stories, Global Culture

The response from each office was unbelievable, with record numbers of employees and teams signing up to participate.

Through early-morning huddles, candid hallway chats, whiteboard sessions, shared meals, and activities, we created an intimate portrait of life at Okta across continents.

The warmth, focus, and innovation we encountered were distinct in each city—but together, they shaped something bigger: a culture defined not by geography, but shared values and respect.
